NCWM Announces Regional Weights and Measures Meetings in May 2016
Lincoln, Nebraska (PRWEB) May 03, 2016 -- Two regional weights and measures associations will hold meetings in May to review proposals to amend national standards for commercial measurements. Among topics they will discuss include standards for transportation network systems such as Uber and Lyft, tolerances on hydrogen fueling systems for cars, in-motion weighing of highway vehicles, method of sale for various commodities, motor fuel quality, and verifying net contents of packaged products.
These regional associations will use this opportunity to develop opinions and positions on technical proposals prior to the 101st NCWM Annual Meeting to be held July 24-48, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Denver, Colorado. At the NCWM meeting many of these items will be brought to a vote to amend national standards.
The Northeastern Weights and Measures Association will hold its Annual Meeting May 16-19 at the Hyatt Place Portland Old Port Hotel in Portland Maine. Meeting information is available at http://www.newma.us.
The Central Weights and Measures Association will hold its Annual Meeting May 23-26 at the Alex Johnson Hotel in Rapid City, South Dakota. Meeting information is available at http://www.cwma.net.
Standards adopted by the National Conference on Weights and Measures are published in NIST Handbooks 44, 130, and 133. States and territories of the United States voluntarily adopt these standards for national uniformity in weights and measures regulation.
The National Conference on Weights and Measures is a professional nonprofit association of state and local weights and measures officials, federal agencies, manufacturers, retailers and consumers. NCWM has developed national weights and measures standards since 1905. The organization brings the right interests together to keep pace with innovative advancements in the marketplace.
