Shelters and health-conscious pet owners will be able to purchase their Petbiotics™ at a special discount. Referrals from the rescues, purchased directly from Natren, will result in a 15% donation of the purchase price back to the animal rescue.

Natren, Inc. recently sent representatives to the Greater Philadelphia Pet Expo to promote their animal line of probiotics, Petbiotics™, as they fondly call them. As animal lovers, they were deeply moved to see the large turnout of animal rescue groups networking for their non-profit organizations. Animal rescues across the nation face huge hurdles rescuing animals in distress, saving them from harm and disease, providing treatment for their health conditions, helping to reunite lost pets and finding homes for those in need. It is tireless and often thankless work, but the end result changes the life of the animal forever and brings so much happiness to pet-loving families across the nation. Seeing how hard these groups were working to improve the lives of these animals inspired Natren to come up with a new program specifically designed to benefit both the animal rescue organizations and especially the animals they serve.

Natren introduced probiotics to the health food industry and launched the probiotic category in the United States in the early 1980’s. They research, test and cultivate all of their strains in a state-of-the-art laboratory, pharmaceutical grade facility located in Westlake Village, California. Many people are surprised to learn that one of the most well-known probiotic species, Lactobacillus acidophilus, is also found in the gastrointestinal tract of dogs, cats, and even chickens, just to name a few. Recent veterinary research has shown that dogs with acute diarrhea showed low bacterial diversity in their guts, it stands to reason, that supplementing with a probiotic can help increase the levels of good bacteria and aid their digestive health. Probiotics have also been studied in dogs with dietary sensitivities and were shown to help stabilize the gut and improve the health of these sensitive pets.

Giving shelter pets’ a quality probiotic can improve digestive health and strengthen their immune system just like in humans. Natren believes that every pet should be receiving these valuable beneficial bacteria and they’ve started their new Charitable Donation Program to give new pet parents special pricing that also generates money for the animal rescues.

The new, and innovative program, will allow shelters and health-conscious pet owners to purchase their premium, quality Petbiotics™ at a special discount. Referrals from the rescues, purchased directly from Natren, will result in a 15% donation, of the purchase price, back to the animal rescue. This program means the new pet owner saves money and they make a donation back to the animal rescue while doing so - - it’s a really neat win-win program. Natren is also offering marketing materials explaining the program free of charge to any interested animal rescue group.
