“R&D IT leaders looking to build a digital R&D capability should investigate this year's promising class of vendors. Most of them operate in the sweet spot for smart labs, open science, complex scientific and materials information, and intelligent R&D management,” wrote Michael Shanler, Gartner Vice President.
“The Cool Vendor report is a well-researched selection of innovators solving hard problems in R&D IT. We are honored to be included,” stated Marilyn Matz, CEO and Co-founder of Paradigm4. “We believe the Gartner report offers additional validation to what our customers in pharmaceuticals, biotech, instrumentation, and precision medicine are discovering – that SciDB accelerates the identification of prognostic, efficacy, and safety biomarkers to improve research and patient outcomes.”
Paradigm4’s SciDB is a scalable, scientific database management system that helps researchers join together and analyze highly dimensional genomic, biomedical, clinical, image, instrument, and wearable sensor data. Its scalable math operations allow researchers to use all the data without sampling or missing insights buried in the tails. SciDB connects the vast reserves of underutilized internal and public data for exploratory analytics and enriched decision-making—while guaranteeing data integrity and reproducibility in a multi-user environment.
Paradigm4 is changing what’s possible with diverse and complex data by answering bigger and harder questions.
Innovative leaders like Foundation Medicine, Complete Genomics, the National Institutes of Health, Agios, MIT Lincoln Laboratories, NASA, and others use SciDB for collaborative, reproducible research.
The company was founded by renowned database researcher, Turing Award laureate, and entrepreneur, MIT Professor Michael Stonebraker.
