PlacerGROWN Farmers’ Markets Opening for Summer Season
Auburn, CA (PRWEB) May 03, 2016 -- Four seasonal PlacerGROWN Farmers’ Markets are opening for the 2016 summer season, providing a plethora of produce options for residents of Placer County and surrounding areas who are looking to enjoy a farm-fresh, healthy lifestyle. The seasonal farmers’ markets offer community members a variety of unique venues for buying local and join two year-round farmers’ markets in Auburn and Roseville.
“It’s very important for us to provide farm-fresh produce in as many places as possible in Placer County,” said PlacerGROWN Executive Director Carol Arnold. “We’re thrilled to connect families to friendly farmers who can answer questions and talk about their products and heritage. Going to the farmers’ markets can be a valuable learning experience.”
Merchants and community members in Placer County looking for seasonal ingredients can pick up fresh produce at one of the following PlacerGROWN Farmers’ Markets: Auburn Old Town, Fountains in Roseville, Dewitt Center in Rocklin, Quarry Ponds in Granite Bay, High Hand Nursery in Loomis, and RC Willey in Rocklin. All markets sell PlacerGROWN fruits, vegetables, flowers, nuts, honey, eggs, herbs and other items from a variety of local producers.
“As one of the best agricultural regions in California, Placer County is the perfect place to embrace a healthy eating lifestyle,” said Placer County Agricultural Commissioner Josh Huntsinger. “Our producers have been growing on the land for many generations, and the ingredients that you pick up from a PlacerGROWN Farmers’ Market offers top-tier quality, in a homegrown environment.”
