Sun Protective Clothing Company Partners with Nonprofit Organization to Offer Sun Safety Education Program for Children
Sonora, Ca (PRWEB) May 10, 2016 -- UV Skinz has announced that they are the exclusive clothing sponsor for the Enright Sun Safety Certification Program™, which was designed by skin cancer professionals to provide education in a fun, informative manner. These free, interactive online courses make it appealing to youth, and those who influence youth. The programs use the Enright Sun Safety ACE™ (Apply Cover Enjoy) to teach ages 5-8, 9-12 and 13+ about the effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, the types of skin cancers it can cause, the importance of protecting oneself from too much UV exposure, and how to educate others about early detection and prevention of melanoma.
UV Skinz wants to ensure people are protected and educated about the importance of wearing sun protection while they enjoy the outdoors. More than 5 million cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed this year, and current estimates state that 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. UV Skinz hopes to change these statistics, as nearly 90% of these cancers are preventable. “By partnering with the Enright Melanoma Foundation on their Sun Safety Certification Program™, we leverage a very effective education platform to help us spread the word about sun safety and the need for effective sun protection,” explains UV Skinz’ Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Rhonda Sparks.
“The Enright Melanoma Foundation is thrilled to collaborate with UV Skinz on this project.”, says Janet Horowitz, Executive Director of the Enright Melanoma Foundation. “They have a stellar reputation in the UV-protective clothing industry for quality products, and a demonstrated commitment to community outreach and education about skin cancer and preventive measures. UV Skinz is the perfect clothing partner for the ‘Cover’ component of our ‘Apply Cover Enjoy’ message.”
Children, parents, educators and the general public can view the courses, which are available online at free at http://www.applycoverenjoy.org
About UV Skinz
UV Skinz was created after founder and CEO, Rhonda Sparks, lost her 32 year old husband, Darren, to melanoma. The devastating loss of Darren, as well as being left to raise their three young boys on her own, gave Rhonda the drive to create a sun protective product line (sizes 3mo – 4XL) for the entire family that would protect men, women, and children from harmful UV radiation while they enjoy time spent outdoors. By providing the highest quality and fashionable designs at competitive prices, UV Skinz aims to make sun protection easy and effortless for everyone, and ultimately hopes to get children and families covered worldwide.
