Baicker and Gottlieb to Keynote at 2016 Hospital 100 Leadership & Strategy Conference
Southport, CT (PRWEB) May 09, 2016 -- Hospital 100, the premier leadership and strategy event for hospitals and health systems, has announced two keynote speakers for the October Conference; Katherine Baicker, PhD, Professor of Health Economics, Harvard School of Public Health; Commissioner, Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPac) and Scott Gottlieb, MD, Resident Follow, American Enterprise Institute.
Katherine Baicker, PhD is a C. Boyden Gray Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Professor Baicker has served as a Commissioner on the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission; as Chair of the Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission; on the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisers; as a Director of Eli Lilly; on the Editorial Boards of multiple journals; and as Chair of the Board of Directors of AcademyHealth.
Professor Baicker will headline the Closing Keynote: Hospitals, Health Systems and the Future of Medicare - and offer an outlook for a leaner acute care sector, including the scope, scale and timing of health system consolidation.
Scott Gottlieb, MD is the former Deputy Commissioner of the FDA a practicing physician; and Resident Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a nonpartisan, non-profit institution dedicated to research and education on issues of government, politics and economics.
Dr. Gottlieb will moderate the General Session: Eat or Be Eaten: Disruptive Innovation Impacting Your Future, which will explore the significant emerging forces of disruption across three realms of healthcare: technology, clinical care and legislation.
