Wilmington Trust’s Carol Kroch and Dick Nenno Elected Fellows of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC)
WILMINGTON, DEL. (PRWEB) May 05, 2016 -- Wilmington Trust is proud to announce that Carol Kroch and Dick Nenno were chosen by The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) as Fellows. Nenno is senior managing director and trust counsel, and Kroch is managing director of wealth and philanthropic planning in Wealth Advisory.
This year, ACTEC expanded membership to include a “fiduciary counsel” category at trust companies. Kroch and Nenno are the only two “fiduciary counsel” elected as Fellows in Delaware. Only nine “fiduciary counsel” were elected in total across the United States.
ACTEC is a nonprofit, professional organization for trust and estate lawyers and law professors who are elected as Fellows by their peers based on significant contributions to the field. ACTEC has more than 2,600 members in the United States, Canada, and other countries.

Kroch and Nenno join Wilmington Trust colleagues Donna Barwick, Henry Gissel, and Tom Sweeney, who were previously elected as ACTEC Fellows.
CAROL G. KROCH
Kroch is managing director of wealth and philanthropic planning in Wilmington Trust’s Wealth Advisory. She also leads the Wealth Planning and Fiduciary Thought Leadership Team comprised of attorneys and financial planners who focus on thought leadership related to trust and estate planning, income tax and financial planning, and philanthropic planning.
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust in 2005, Kroch was senior counsel at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the largest foundation in the United States devoted to health and health care. From 1978 to 1999, she was in private practice at Drinker Biddle & Reath in Philadelphia, and Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York.
Kroch earned a J.D. from Boston College Law School, where she was a member of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif, and a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College. She is a frequent author and speaker on trust, estate, and charitable planning, as well as nonprofit governance topics.
She co-chairs the Committee on Art and Collectibles of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of American Bar Association. She is a past Council member of the Section, and served as Supervisory Council member for the Charitable Planning and Organizations Group.
She is also a member of the National Conference of Lawyers and Corporate Fiduciaries, the Exempt Organizations Committee of the ABA Tax Section, and the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc. She was the ABA Advisor to the Drafting Committee of the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, and was an ABA Advisor for the Model Entity Transactions Act Drafting Committee.

RICHARD W. (DICK) NENNO
Nenno is senior managing director and trust counsel in Wilmington Trust’s Wealth Advisory. He has nearly 40 years of estate planning experience, and is admitted to the practice of law in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is a nationally-recognized speaker and author on estate planning issues.
He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an observer on the Uniform Law Commission committee that is drafting a Uniform Directed Trust Act, a member of the Bloomberg BNA Estates, Gifts, and Trusts Advisory Board, a Distinguished Accredited Estate Planner, and a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner.
Prior to joining Wilmington Trust in 1982, he was an associate in the Estates Department of the Philadelphia law firm of Ballard Spahr. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Nenno is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (member of Council) and Section of Taxation, as well as the Delaware State Bar Association (past chair of Estates and Trusts Section), Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc. (past president), and the Philadelphia Bar Association.
