Michael J. Palumbo, distinguished Chicago trader known for turning $250,000 into over $100 million, announces release of first book, “Calculated Risk: The Modern Entrepreneur’s Handbook.” Within the book Palumbo shares the insights and secrets he developed over 20 years that led to his extraordinary success.
Palumbo celebrates the debut of his first book with a release party on Wednesday, May 4th. Media is invited to attend and Mr. Palumbo will be available for interviews.
“Calculated Risk” is a practical guidebook that chronicles Palumbo’s greatest triumphs as a businessman both with his own companies and through backing others primarily in Chicago. The book takes entrepreneurs step by step through the process of starting a successful business from scratch, from idea to exit, using real world examples to drive home his message. He explains what makes a viable idea for business creation, how to tell if a startup is succeeding and what top venture capitalists look for when valuing a new business.
The launch party is at 6 p.m. on May 4 at Artspace 8, 900 N. Michigan Ave., in Chicago. Palumbo will present a short speech at 7 p.m., give interviews, and sign copies of his new book. Wine and appetizers will be served.
Palumbo is the president and chairman of the Chicago-based firm MJP Capital LLC and the controlling partner of TMT Investments LLC. Crain’s Chicago Business recognized Palumbo’s accomplishments and trading income in its 2005 “40 Under 40 Focus.” He was additionally listed among the top 100 traders worldwide in Trader Monthly Magazine. Palumbo was also featured in the VH1 documentary “The Fabulous Life of Wall Street Billionaires – Ballers” and the book “Trade With Passion and Purpose.”
