Designed by architect Scott Tease of Scattergood Design (Portland, Maine), the five-story hotel offers a gracious lobby with dramatic, two-story interior “galleries” highlighting artwork by contemporary Maine artists. The hotel’s sleek modern design features expansive windows, outdoor terraces, and a spectacular roof deck where guests can enjoy stunning views of Rockland Harbor. 250 Main’s guestrooms and suites, custom designed by James J. Wall, Thirlwal Building Design, provide sleek furnishings, thoughtfully curated Maine contemporary art, and state-of-the-art technology and amenities. The elegant comfort of the hotel’s common spaces also encourages socializing. Guests will enjoy nightly wine tastings, locally roasted coffee by Rock City Coffee Roasters, and breakfast treats from local bakeries. 250 Main presents a customized guest experience complete with a mix of relaxation, outdoor activity packages, and arts and culture.
This one-of-a-kind hotel was built by Cabot Lyman of Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding, Thomaston, Maine. Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding has developed a world-class reputation for craftsmanship and sustainability during its 35-year history. Many interior finishes of the hotel were produced at the boatyard. 250 Maine includes sustainable features such as a high-efficiency exterior skin, LED lighting, and a green roof.
