LULAC and The General Motors Foundation Open New Technology Lab at Latinitas, Inc in Austin, Texas
Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 04, 2016 -- The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the General Motors Foundation have collaborated to open a technology lab at Latinitas Community Center in Austin, Texas. The effort is part of LULAC’s Empower Hispanic America with Technology initiative, which focuses on closing the digital divide in the Latino community. LULAC, the General Motors Foundation and representatives from Latinitas will officially open the lab with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10 A.M. Saturday, May 7.
LULAC’s Empower Hispanic America with Technology initiative will help Latino youth navigate the college admissions process and explore education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Latinitas will also provide students with resources regarding STEM programs at the new lab. Community members are encouraged to visit the technology lab and use the Internet and available software free of charge.
