This is an extremely proud moment for all of us and we’re very happy to be the recipient of the Business Award for Community Support.

Christie®, a leader in creating and delivering the world’s best visual and audio experiences, is proud to be the recipient of the Business Award for Community Support, announced at the 2016 CeBIT Business Technology Awards.

Organized by CeBIT Australia, the annual awards recognize excellence, innovation and achievement in the information and communications technology industry. Christie Australia edged out four other esteemed finalists to clinch this coveted prize, which celebrates excellence in the deployment of innovative technology to enhance communities in their social cohesion, environmental responsibilities and expression of common values.

Christie Australia’s award submission was based on the recent Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular – a “son et lumière” show featuring projection mapped content onto the façade and clock tower of the Brisbane City Hall. The enchanting visual spectacle was planned and executed by Christie’s Australian partner, The Electric Canvas, during the Christmas seasons in 2013-2015, and featured a total of 16 Christie Roadster S+20K 3DLP® projectors. The stunning visuals helped to drive traffic to the city area during the festive period, and greatly enhanced the Christmas mood and strengthened community bonding through the creation and sharing of beautiful projections.

Frank Anzures, Channel Development Manager, Christie Asia Pacific, accepted the award during the CeBIT Australia gala dinner held at the Sydney Olympic Park on May 3.

Commenting on the win, Michael Bosworth, General Manager, Christie Australia, said, “This is an extremely proud moment for all of us and we’re very happy to be the recipient of the Business Award for Community Support. This is the first time that we have won a community award and we are thrilled that the Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular has benefited the community at large. I would like to thank the wonderful team led by Peter Milne from The Electric Canvas for delivering a top-notch show. It’s wonderful that the event had ignited the festive mood and fostered community bonding among Brisbanites during the Christmas season.”

This is the third award that Christie Australia has won following the Innovator Award presented by the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) – a branch of the Australian Industry & Defence Network – and the prestigious Project Innovation Award handed out by Simulation Australia in 2014.
