NYU Press Joins Ingram Publisher Services to Expand Reach and Consolidate Services

Ingram Publisher Services today announced a joint agreement with NYU Press to provide full-service distribution.

Ingram Publisher Services today announced a joint agreement with NYU Press to provide full-service distribution.

“Ingram welcomes NYU Press,” said Mark Ouimet, vice president and general manager of Ingram Publisher Services, PGW, and Consortium. “We are committed to developing services tailored to university presses. The addition of NYU Press helps advance our mission of building a comprehensive, versatile program to advance the global dissemination of knowledge through content.”

NYU Press and Ingram have a long-standing relationship. The forward-thinking press started using Ingram’s Lightning Source print on demand almost 20 years ago and became a digital asset management and distribution customer using Ingram’s CoreSource platform in 2014.

Two aspects of NYU Press’s strategy are key to their distribution – they strive to capture every book sale and they maintain virtual inventory.

“NYU Press continues to work with Ingram on innovative uses of digital print and has had notable success with the Guaranteed Availability Program, which enables publishers to economically ensure availability of all of their titles,” said George Tattersfield, vice president of merchandising at Ingram Book Group.

“The publishing business changes every day but what remains constant is our commitment to publishing quality scholarship and to make it available to our customers however and whenever they want it,” said Ellen Chodosh, Director of NYU Press. “With this in mind, we selected Ingram Publisher Services as our new distribution partner. Ingram’s reputation for distribution services is second to none. They combine a very efficient warehouse system with helpful, knowledgeable employees who find creative solutions to the issues we have, and anticipate the issues that will arise in the future.”

Through Ingram Publisher Services, NYU Press will continue to align its strategic goals with its new distributor, putting into motion an integrated Ingram strategy to advance the global dissemination of knowledge through NYU Press’s content.

NYU Press joins Indiana University Press, Minnesota Historical Society Press, Wilfrid Laurier University Press, and Regina University Press, who also work with Ingram Publisher Services.

NYU Press books will be available through Ingram Publisher Services beginning July 2, 2016.
