Lex Mundi: Four Officers and Four Directors Begin New Terms

John Matson of Arthur Cox, Lex Mundi member firm for Ireland and Northern Ireland, was elected Chair of Lex Mundi by the organization’s Board of Directors during the 2016 Lex Mundi Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting in Berlin. Lex Mundi is the world’s leading network of independent law firms with 160 member firms and more than 21,000 lawyers worldwide.

Mr. Matson, a corporate partner in the Dublin office of Arthur Cox, leads one of the firm’s M&A groups and currently serves on the firm’s Management Committee. He has served on Lex Mundi’s Board of Directors since 2012.

Lex Mundi’s Board of Directors also elected Sebastian Iribarne of Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal (Argentina) to the position of Chair-Elect, Tiziana Sucharitkul of Tilleke & Gibbins, (Thailand) to the position of Secretary, and Benjamin Haglund of Day Pitney LLP (USA, New Jersey) to the position of Treasurer.

Alexander Ritvay, Partner at Noerr LLP (Germany) and Keith Wetmore, Chair Emeritus of Morrison & Foerster LLP (USA, California) will serve on the Lex Mundi Executive Committee along with Mr. Matson, Mr. Iribarne, Ms. Sucharitkul, Mr. Haglund, Paulo Rocha, Partner at Demarest Advogados (Brazil), the out-going Chair, and Carl Anduri, Lex Mundi’s President.

At the same Annual Meeting, the membership elected four new directors to the Lex Mundi Board of Directors: Don Douglas of Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP (Canada, Manitoba), Angella Castille of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP (USA, Indiana and USA, Minnesota), Katsuyuki Yamaguchi of Nishimura & Asahi (Japan), and Mr. Wetmore. They will serve four-year terms.
