The New Hampshire Travel Council Awards Dennis Ducharme As Mildred Beach Travel Person Of The Year
Lincoln, NH (PRWEB) May 05, 2016 -- The New Hampshire Travel Council held its 40th annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism earlier this week at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods where Dennis Ducharme was named Travel Person of the Year. Dennis was nominated by Alyssa Yolda, executive director of the Western White Mountains Chamber of Commerce. “Nominating Dennis for this award seemed obvious. He is an incredible community activist, a driving force for our economic development and a gracious, humble and grounded person to work with here in the Western White Mountains,” says Yolda. The Mildred Beach Travel Person of the Year Award is presented to an individual in the state of NH who has continued to make significant and personal contributions to the travel industry’s advancement during the previous year.
“Receiving this award is a great honor considering the talent and dedication of so many members of our tourism industry in New Hampshire,” says Ducharme, “I may provide the pillows, the comfort and the safety for our guests, but it is our tourism industry partners that provide the fun and adventure that bring visitors to New Hampshire year after year.”
Ducharme has been involved in New Hampshire’s tourism industry since 1993, with the re-development of Pollard Brook Resort located in Lincoln, NH. Ducharme, who also received the Eileen Rice Outstanding Business Leader of the Year Award in 2015, serves as a member for regional hospitality and tourism committees including multiple branches of American Resort Development Association in the northeast, NH Lodging and Restaurant Association, White Mountains Attractions and Ski NH, to name a few.
Ducharme continues to improve NH’s tourism industry with his current development of RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain, a major 170 room luxury resort complex in downtown Lincoln, NH.
