Weekley Tops Professional Builder's 2016 Housing Giants List
Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 05, 2016 -- David Weekley Homes announces its ranking of 15th on Professional Builder magazines’ 2016 Housing Giants List, up one from 16th on last year’s list. The report ranks the nation’s 252 largest home builders by housing revenue and closings in 2015.
“We are incredibly honored to be included once again on the Housing Giants List,” said David Weekley, chairman of David Weekley Homes. “We are proud of our continued growth and remain committed to providing our customers with homes designed to enhance their lives.”
David Weekley Homes is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2016 and also reached another milestone in the company’s history with its 80,000 home closing. In addition, the home builder was recently listed as the largest privately-held for-profit home builder in America, according to BUILDER magazine. The BUILDER 100 list is comprised of both private and public builders and identifies the top home builders in America by annual closings, gross revenue, and rate of change year over year, as well as information about where and what they build.
Professional Builder has been compiling its list of Housing Giants for over 40 years. Firms that wish to apply for the list must complete a questionnaire that includes questions about types of homes built, average square footage, revenue and closings. In addition, Professional Builder retains the services of researchers who contact large building firms who have not volunteered information in order to cast the widest net for the biggest home building firms. The rankings are based on new home revenue only. Firms with less than 30 starts cannot be included in the ranking.
