"Behind the Scenes" is a documentary series searching for answers among the many questions Americans face today. By canvassing a wide array of topics, the series gives a brief overview so viewers can understand and stay informed on the events occurring in the world. From industry to foreign relations, each segment takes a look at new facts and the body of research surrounding the issues. Horticulture is to be discussed in an upcoming episode with James Earl Jones introducing the segment.

With all the talk surrounding food today, horticulture has had some controversy associated with it for quite some time. Before it may have been simply a topic spoken of in gardening clubs, but the use of pesticides and the return to farm-to-table concepts have brought out strong opinions in people today. Viewers of this new program will learn more about how horticulture has been used in our country and beyond, and will hear from experts who have followed the progression of the attitudes, techniques and innovations in the field have changed. Viewers will also see how food is mass-produced and what that could mean for future generations.

What consumers eat and where food comes from has become at the forefront of many conversations. The series will also cover general plant and flower growth as well as edible gardens. "Behind the Scenes" aims to educate so consumers can form their own thoughts on the matter.

"Behind the Scenes" is independently produced from APT and PBS, and does not represent their views or opinions, and is not distributed through those groups.
