Smart Vision Lights recently received the 2016 Platinum-Level Innovators Award from Vision Systems Design for its Line High Power (LHP) series of LED lights for line-scan imagining.

Smart Vision Lights, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-brightness LED lights for industrial applications, including machine vision, announced today that its Line High Power (LHP) series of LED lights for line-scan imaging was recognized by the judges of the annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies.

Smart Vision Lights was honored with a platinum-level award. At 5 million lux, the LHP series of LED lights offers the brightest line-scan lights on the market. Smart Vision Lights’ LHP is the first commercial machine vision LED light to use silicone optics. Optical-grade silicone will revolutionize machine vision lighting by enabling injection molding of complex optical designs that combine the best properties of glass and plastics, offering excellent light transmission, thermal resistance, and flexibility at a low cost.

“It is quite an honor for all of us here at Smart Vision Lights to receive this distinguished award,” said Dave Spaulding, president of Smart Vision Lights. “Our team has worked diligently on designing a light with a highly innovative optical-grade silicone lens allowing us to obtain a never before reached brightness of 5 million plus lux at an affordable price. Once again our team has answered the call to our customers’ needs in the Advanced Machine Vision lighting industry."

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design, said: "This prestigious program allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry. Our 2016 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry."

The Innovators Awards are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Originality
  • Innovation
  • Impact on designers, systems integrators, and end users
  • Fulfilling a need in the market that hasn’t been addressed
  • Leveraging a novel technology

The 2016 Visions Systems Design Innovators Awards Honorees are featured in the June Issue of Vision Systems Design magazine as well as on vision-systems.com.
