Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce two further ‘Improving Outcomes’ Biometry Courses, which will be held in London at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCO).

HS-UK has finalised an exciting programme for these two additional courses, which includes lectures on topics such as; ‘Good biometry practice’, ‘TORIC IOL surgery’ and ‘IOL power calculation’. The courses will take place on the 14th and 15th July 2016.

These ‘Improving Outcomes’ biometry courses have been designed to help both beginners and experienced Ophthalmic Consultants get the most from their biometer. Speakers for the event are confirmed as; Mr David Sculfor, Consultant Optometrist at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Mr Larry Benjamin, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust. Both are widely-recognised as experts in their field.

Each day will include practical, hands-on workshops which will support a range of subjects, including; measurement, IOL power calculators, editing IOL data, immersion ultrasound and TORIC IOL planning.

The first day will cover ‘Improving Outcomes’ standard biometry methods and the second will focus on more advanced techniques, enabling delegates to attend whichever day is more appropriate for their individual learning requirements. Attendees will be able to claim CPD points for each day of the event (CPD points have been applied for, please note that all previous ‘Improving Outcomes’ courses were awarded 7.5 CPD points).

Grant Duncan, HS-UK Clinical Training Manager, said, “These popular courses are a great opportunity for delegates to gain some hands-on experience with state-of-the-art biometry equipment. I am delighted that David Sculfor and Larry Benjamin will be joining us again for the London courses and that delegates will be able to benefit from this fantastic opportunity to learn from these expert speakers.”

The price for each course is just £100, which will include lunch at the RCO. Due to the popularity of the previous ‘Improving Outcomes’ courses it is advised that those wishing to attend should book early to avoid disappointment.
