First Ever Southern Cannabis Summit in Louisville, KY June 10-11, 2016
Louisville, Kentucky (PRWEB) May 11, 2016 -- The Southern Cannabis Summit will bring together medical professionals, lawyers and activists from across the South in Louisville, Kentucky, on June 10th – 11th, to discuss the future of cannabis legalization and how red states can go green.
“As a former Congressman and State Legislator from Kentucky, I’ve never seen an issue with such popular support as cannabis legalization with as little progress from Legislatures,” said Mike Ward, CEO of Legalize Kentucky Now, a co-sponsor of the event. “The Southern Cannabis will help us educate and advocate for this important issue.”
The Southern Cannabis Summit will include Continuing Legal Education presentations, and participants will also be able to receive a certificate from Oaksterdam University. SCS has also reserved tables on Millionaires Row at world famous Churchill Downs so that participants can enjoy a day at the track on the same day as the last leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes.
Legalize Kentucky Now is a non-profit education and advocacy organization dedicated to the legalization of cannabis in Kentucky. Legalize Kentucky Now’s CEO, Mike Ward, lost his brother to AIDS in the early 1990s and saw first hand the medical and therapeutic benefits that his brother got from cannabis. Ward served in the United States House of Representatives from 1995-1997, and in the Kentucky Legislature from 1989-1994. He was appointed by President Clinton to be Associate Director of the Peace Corps and served there from 1997-2001.
