WeSpeke Launches Innovative Mobile Lesson App for Language Learning
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 11, 2016 -- WeSpeke Lessons continues the company’s strategy to deliver affordable language lessons that combine relevant content, peer-to-peer communication, and a global community. “Our users want to learn languages on their smartphones,” said Michael Elchik, CEO of WeSpeke. “WeSpeke Lessons delivers an engaging user experience in which learners can easily access our high quality Lessons. Users can learn a language anywhere--at home, at school, or on a bus--and at anytime. But the WeSpeke Lessons deliver more than just convenience: after learners have completed a Lesson, they can immediately practice what they’ve learned by chatting with another member of our global community. In summary, WeSpeke offers the complete experience: relevant content, effective learning, and instant practice.”
Currently, the Lessons offered by WeSpeke focus on learning English. “The world wants to build English skills. Learning English—or any language--is personal and most often done with a purpose. That’s why we are starting with English Lessons, including a collection that prepares learners for formal English language tests such as the TOEFL iBT®. However, we have a publishing plan that includes offering Lessons for other languages,” added Elchik.
WeSpeke Lessons is the ideal complement to the WeSpeke Chat app, first released in January 2016. Mobile users can toggle between WeSpeke Lessons and WeSpeke Chat based upon their current language goal: take a lesson or practice with a partner in the global community.
WeSpeke Lessons can be downloaded for free in the iTunes Store or in Google Play and is available globally. Registered users can take two Lessons for free.
WeSpeke is a free, safe, global digital learning platform designed for practicing languages, sharing cultures, and making international connections. Using WeSpeke, learners build language skills through collaborative and immersive conversations with native speakers using text chat, audio chat and video. WeSpeke uses patent pending matching technology to bring individual users together based on complementary language interests and common life interests. WeSpeke was founded in 2010 by Michael Elchik and Jaime Carbonell, Ph.D., Director of the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
