Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 11, 2016 -- In 2015, the Foundation for Community Association Research celebrates 40 years of providing critical research and analysis to the community association industry.
Today, more than 63 million people live in almost 330,000 community associations accounting for more than $4 trillion in home values. Add tens of thousands of community managers, management companies, developers, insurance agents, and bankers to the mix and it is easy to understand why virtually everyone has a vested interest in the success of these communities.
And while these communities are better managed and more accommodating than ever before, they are experiencing a massive shift in age demographics. People are staying in their homes longer, living longer, and are relying on home investments and equity to cover more golden years.
While virtually every community is experiencing people aging in place, little research exists on the responsibilities and legalities surrounding this trend. To date, the industry lacks a clear understanding of available resources, necessary steps, and the opportunities that exist for collaborative efforts that would educate a wider audience and help ensure that collective community investments are protected and maintained for years to come.
To fully understand the depth of aging in place and other key issues facing community associations nationwide, the Foundation is establishing a Critical Issues Think Tank, which will convene industry leaders who are on the forefront of this and other vital discussions.
In the think tank’s pilot term, the Foundation is extending limited invitations for membership. The Foundation's goal is to raise enough seed money to jump-start the necessary research outlined while maintaining group dynamics that allow for thought mobility.
Think tank founding membership requires an annual gift of $2,500. Adrian Adams is part of a team of industry leaders from around the country who serve as the Foundation’s research steering committee.
