The Westin Reston Heights and Sheraton Reston Hote l commemorate this Saturday’s Armed Forced Day by kicking off a special package for military groups (both active and retired) coming to the Washington, DC area this year. The package includes special pricing as well as upgrades. Both hotels are managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, a leading operator of hotels with over 100 properties in North America, including fifteen in the Washington, DC area.

“We have always been a tremendous supporter of the military,” said Don Anderson, Complex General Manager, who oversees both hotels, located adjacent from each other in Reston, VA. “Our brave men and women in uniform give so much of themselves day in and day out, we feel it’s important to support them and their efforts.” Last December when members of the Sheraton Reston heard that the 104th Training Division’s 3rd Brigade did not have a venue for their annual holiday meal, not only did they offer their services, but underwrote the entire cost of the event. “Our reservists do so much for us, we were honored to have them as our guests and sponsor the celebration of their dedication,” added Anderson.

The hotels’ staff also personally hand-writes thank you cards to those soldiers who are recuperating at the local Walter Reed Medical Center. The hotels have long standing relationships with a variety of military associations and non-profit groups and are always willing to offer special packages to veterans as a way of giving back. Both hotels also offer preferred rates for military (both active and retired) personnel on leisure travel – not just for those traveling under government orders.

“To help show our dedication to Armed Forces Day” we picked this week to kick off our Military Reunion Package that includes rates starting at $89 (including full American breakfast), 8000 SPG Points, complimentary hospitality meeting room, and complimentary guest room for the reunion planner or a VIP of their choice,” said Anderson. The hotel also offers to proudly hang the reunion group’s banner and gives complimentary use of a United States Flag for their ceremonies. This package is good for those groups that book their 2016 reunion by June 30, 2016. Those planning group events can check availability online for either The Westin Reston Heights or the Sheraton Reston, or call 703-262-5931 for details and restrictions.
