Our families have appreciated the ease of the process on their end, and it's helped us to improve our data quality. Any time you can make parents and the superintendent happy, it's a win-win.

South Carolina’s Kershaw County School District (KCSD) recently received 18 awards for excellence in communication from the South Carolina chapter of the National School Public Relations Association. The Association advocates to build support and trust for public education through well-planned and responsible communication.
The district’s communications plan for the implementation of PowerSchool Registration won a Gold Medallion Award as a superior overall educational communications program. KCSD staff processed over 11,000 online registrations using PowerSchool last summer, as reported by The Chronicle-Independent, a local South Carolina newspaper. Effecting PowerSchool best practices, such as engaging families and staff, resulted in a 98 percent completion rate in the district’s first year of using PowerSchool Registration.
PowerSchool Registration is an innovative solution that facilitates effective communication to power school operations for more than 6 million users, worldwide. The solution improves student safety standards by providing up-to-date student data to schools before the first day of school, increases staff efficiency, saves money, and enables educators to spend more time on education and less time on administration.
“We have had a tremendous positive response to the implementation of our online registration system," said Kershaw County School District Communications Director Mary Anne Byrd. "Our families have appreciated the ease of the process on their end, and it's helped us to improve our data quality. Any time you can make parents and the superintendent happy, it's a win-win."
“It is exciting to see a power user of our solution win this award for excellence in communication. It speaks to our ability to design, develop, and support an intuitive product that improves communication throughout an entire school community. We would like to congratulate Kershaw County School District on receiving this award and we look forward to their continuous success with PowerSchool Registration,” said Oliver Wreford, VP of Product and Marketing at PowerSchool.
