104 Schools Helped by Imagination Playground’s Gift of Play So Far in 2016
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 11, 2016 -- Imagination Playground, LLC, http://www.imaginationplayground.com, creators of the breakthrough play space concept that encourages child-directed, unstructured free play, announced today that so far in 2016, 104 schools have benefited from their Gift of Play program. Gift of Play is Imagination Playground’s offer of financial assistance to the many schools that want a set of Imagination Playground Big Blue Blocks, but are unable to afford one.
Research shows that 80% of schools that know of Imagination Playground want the Big Blue Blocks for their children. Imagination Playground first launched Gift of Play in 2015, after receiving feedback from hundreds of schools saying that they indeed wanted a set of Big Blue Blocks, but were restricted from purchasing due to funding limitations. Imagination Playground responded by offering schools financial consideration at unprecedented levels. The program was quickly and overwhelmingly received, and Imagination Playground announced its plan to continue the program in 2016.
Commenting on Imagination Playground’s commitment to schools and creative play, David Krishock, Imagination Playground’s President and CEO says, “We listened to educators, and we understand the need. With all the published research about the benefits of creative play, while today’s children spend less time playing, there couldn’t be a more important time for us to help.”
Imagination Playground’s company mission is to help children become more involved in purposeful, child-directed play, and for adults to become more aware of and engaged in the developmental benefits of play. At the beginning of 2016, the company set specific goals to get 3 million more kids, 6 million more parents, and 9 million more educators playing. Having already reached 892,438 more kids, 1,784,876 more parents, and 2,677,314 more educators, Imagination Playground reports it is on track to reach its goals by the end of 2016.
