Hot Ground Gym® Hosting 5K Race for Adults & Obstacle Race for Kids on May 14th
(PRWEB) May 12, 2016 -- Northbrook business Hot Ground Gym will be hosting a 5K race this Saturday, May 14th for children and adults of all ages. The race will occur at 1475 Maple Ave, Northbrook District 28 school with registration starting at 7am, and race beginning at 9am for kids. The Hot Ground Gym team will be providing various obstacles during the race for children, giving them a chance to experience the obstacles used in their fitness classes for kids.
Hot Ground Gym offers obstacle course fitness and character development training for children from ages kindergarten through 8th grade. Each class is guided by the Five pillars of development: obstacle course fitness, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and discipline.
The company, started by military veterans Paul Plotkin and Doug Gialds in 2013, has seen tremendous growth in the community as a place where kids can go to actively learn. The gym’s fun and interactive programs engage kids to learn about essential skills they might not be learning in traditional educational programs, such as teamwork, leadership, critical thinking and discipline, all on an obstacle course fitness program.
“Kids learn and have no idea they are learning because they are gaining confidence, and socially interacting which generates fun” said co-founder Paul Plotkin. “Meanwhile, our gym is keeping them away from the television and other devices while keeping them active and engaged.”
The May 14th 5K race will bring awareness to Hot Ground Gym’s programs, including their after school class Junior Boots, obstacle birthday parties, mobile training, and leadership summer camp. All of the gym’s programs use a “firm but gentle” revolutionary training concept that was designed by the founders of Hot Ground Gym which boosts children's strength, self-confidence, and cooperative skills, and the race will give both adults and children a taste of what they’ll experience in the gym.
Parents interested in signing up for the race can visit Hot Ground Gym’s website at http://www.hotgroundgym.com, where they will also be able to claim one free trial class for their child. The gym can also be reached by calling 847-268-4531.
