Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Françoise Gilbert will be chairing the PLI's Seventeenth Annual Institute on Privacy and Data Security Law, which is being held from May 16 - 17, 2016, at the PLI Center, located at 685 Market Street in San Francisco. This annual conference will focus on the critical legal issues relating to information privacy and cybersecurity faced by companies that use personal information.
In addition, Gilbert will be speaking about, “Global Privacy & Cybersecurity I: Europe.” She will discuss how the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the EU-US Privacy Shield (once enacted) will impact U.S. companies that process personal information of EU citizens, and will offer practical advice on how they can prepare for the new compliance obligations and legal responsibilities. Gilbert will also moderate the session "CPO Challenges: Managing the Global Cacophony." This panel will address and examine the governance challenges faced by Chief Privacy Officers and their ever-changing role within companies.
