Envestnet Institute On Campus Adds Fiserv as Sponsor; Cheryl Nash to Lead ‘Women in Wealth’ Program
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 17, 2016 -- Envestnet, Inc. (NYSE: ENV) and Wheelhouse Analytics announce that Fiserv has joined the select group of wealth management industry leaders at the helm of Envestnet Institute On Campus (EIOC) (http://www.envestnetinstituteoncampus.com). The program, which positions and trains college students to launch careers in wealth management and other aspects of financial services, is now in its third semester and has trained over 300 students from 10 universities through its online coursework and optional learning modules.
In addition to becoming an Advisory Board member of EIOC, Cheryl Nash, President of Investment Services at Fiserv, will lead the new “Women in Wealth” initiative to empower young women who are seeking careers in wealth management.
“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women represent just over half of the U.S. labor force participation rate; however, they represent just 31 percent of all U.S. financial advisors,” said Ron Fiske, Managing Director of Events & Education at Envestnet, and EIOC Advisory Board Member. “Having a talented and passionate leader like Cheryl in charge of our ‘Women in Wealth’ program will help provide more women with the tools they need to forge successful careers in wealth management.”
Live-streaming webinars and learning modules dedicated to women seeking wealth-management career guidance will be developed for use at an estimated 20 universities in the fall semester. Fiserv will also leverage LinkedIn and other social networks to establish stronger connections with “Women in Wealth” participants.
“A career in the wealth management industry gives someone the ability to have an enormously positive impact on people’s lives. Young women need to have more knowledge and access to mentors who can help them launch careers in this industry,” said Cheryl Nash, President of Investment Services at Fiserv and EIOC Advisory Board Member. “I plan to bring other women leaders with varying backgrounds into this initiative to enhance the curriculum with real-life stories from women who have succeeded in this industry, and further enrich the experience for the program’s students.”
“By providing industry insight from successful women members of the wealth management field, we can enhance our students’ productivity and job prospects,” said Craig Pfeiffer, President and CEO of the Money Management Institute, and EIOC Advisory Board Member. “Cheryl’s leadership and the Envestnet Institute On Campus momentum will help improve the industry’s longstanding diversity challenges.”
The Envestnet Institute On Campus program is available through Envestnet Institute (http://www.envestnetinstitute.com), Envestnet’s unified education portal for empowering registered financial professionals, and its curriculum has been approved by the Money Management Institute. EIOC consists of seven mandatory courses, as well as optional white papers, podcasts, and webinars, designed to provide students with practical knowledge of the wealth management industry. The classes are taught at each student’s own pace via an e-learning platform developed and administered by Wheelhouse Analytics.
EIOC will continue to expand its Board with representatives from other key sponsors like Fiserv. It is currently developing an internship and résumé hub that will connect wealth management firms with students who have become certified through the program. EIOC seeks to train in excess of 5,000 students from a wide range of universities over the next five years.
“I am very proud of how far we’ve come in such a short period of time,” said Jim Seuffert, Senior Partner and Student Advocate at Wheelhouse Analytics, and EIOC Advisory Board Member. “At the end of the day, we will be measured by three things—bringing awareness to the opportunities in our business, the delivery of relevant and practical knowledge, and most importantly, helping students find jobs. We will continue to forge relationships with more sponsors and industry experts who can help us achieve these goals.”
