The meeting will serve as a great opportunity for measurement scientists, engineers, and practitioners to collaborate and share knowledge on measurement best practices and what’s on the cutting edge in respective measurement fields.

This Measurement Training Event will be held at Energy Northwest in Richland, WA and will focus on “The Power of Measurement.” The meeting will serve as a great opportunity for measurement scientists, engineers, and practitioners to collaborate and share knowledge on measurement best practices and what’s on the cutting edge in respective measurement fields. Students from the local area colleges and universities are encouraged to attend free of charge and network with industry professionals.

The section meeting will include a white paper presentation by Dr. Evan Goetz from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) that recently measured the existence of gravitational waves. Dr. Goetz’s presentation will provide attendees insight in to how LIGO measures gravitational waves and LIGO calibration. To complete the section meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to tour LIGO.
