Finally! ACMP Releases a Credential That Enables Change Management Professionals to Stand Out From the Crowd
Oviedo, FL (PRWEB) May 15, 2016 -- The marketplace has many “professionals” that specialize in guiding organizations through change. What determines whether they are qualified? How do true change management practitioners present themselves so that organizations can find them? As of May 15, there is a way for change practitioners to stand out in the crowd.
At its inception five years ago, Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) members requested a certification program. They wanted a credential that not only validated knowledge but also the experience that is essential to an individual who wishes to apply change management successfully.
ACMP rose to the challenge. First the Standard for Change Management was created and was published in 2014. This was immediately followed by the launch of the certification project. Both were developed following guidelines established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in order to secure a globally recognized quality standard.
With the launch of the Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) on May 15, 2016 at its annual Change Management Conference, ACMP capped five years of rapid growth and great accomplishments. ACMP invites individuals who meet formal educational requirements, have completed instructor-led change management training that aligns with The Standard and who have at least three years of experience to apply for the CCMP. As part of the application they will be asked to demonstrate their change management experience through their responses to three essay questions and a multiple choice exam based on The Standard. Once accepted, CCMP certificants are expected to maintain their status through a range of activities including taking or providing training, giving back to the change management community or speaking at conferences and events.
