Gift of College Partners With CardCash, the World's Largest Gift Card Exchange

Friends and family can now gift directly to 529 college savings plans and student loan accounts using unwanted gift cards.

CardCash and Gift of College announced today the launch of a web platform that allows users to exchange hundreds of gift cards for a Gift of College eGift Card. The website - - makes it easy for consumers to turn unwanted gift cards into funds that can be deposited directly to any 529 college savings plan or student loan account. The exchange is powered by CardCash, the largest gift card exchange in the world.

Over 93% of Americans received gift cards over this past year, with many still unused. In fact, the CEB Tower Group reports that there are over 1 billion dollars in unused gift cards from 2015 alone. The new Gift of College eGift Card Exchange unlocks the hidden potential of these cards by turning them into Gift of College eGift Cards. The new eGift Cards will hold up to 94% of the face value of the card being exchanged and can be used to fund any 529 college savings plan and student loan account.

The Gift of College gift card exchange program will accept over 200 merchants at where it is easy to get an instant offer before deciding to go ahead with the exchange. A new Gift of College eGift Card will be delivered via email within one business day of placing an order. The card being exchanged never needs to be mailed in and customers can exchange up to $500 worth of cards every 30 days.
