Swiss Post Solutions Honored as Gold and Bronze Stevie® Award Winner in the 2016 American Business Awards

SPS’ Chief People Officer, Russ Cusick, received the Gold Human Resources Executive of the Year award and, under his leadership, SPS’ People Office won the Bronze Human Resources Department of the Year award.
Since 2002, the Stevie® Awards recognize the achievements and contributions of organizations and working professionals worldwide within six Stevie® Award programs including the American Business Awards. This year’s American Business Awards received more than 3,400 nominations from individuals and organizations nationwide with the judging determined by over 250 professionals. “The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie® Awards.

With his 20+ years of Human Resource experience, Russ has been instrumental in leading all aspects of the People Office. As Chief People Officer in 2015, he worked diligently to become a PPACA (Patient Protections and Affordable Care Act) expert, expanded SPS North America’s National Safety Committee with staff members from across the U.S., and worked with other SPS Global HR executives to create a global succession planning tool. To continually improve SPS’ HR practices, he visited client sites, domestically and abroad, and met with key stakeholders to further understand their changing operational needs.
Under Russ’ leadership in 2015, SPS’ People Office was able to improve SPS’ recruiting, training and recognition programs for its employees. With SPS’ expansion into new geographic markets and industries, the People Office oversaw staff hiring including the 10% growth in personnel nationwide. It launched the Ambassador Leadership Training initiative, was recognized as a 2015 Young Adult Employer Champion by the National Fund for Workforce Solutions, and earned a spot on Vault’s 2016 Top 50 Internship programs in the U.S.
