“I am excited to be joining forces with SensoryAbled Kids. This business is created to cater to kids who have sensory needs and children with ASD,” said Martin. “Families are lucky to have such an awesome business so close by. I hope that through this open house and the parent training offered that families will bring their children to a place that is designed for them in mind. CARD is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community in the Hampton Roads Area.”
SensoryAbled Kids LLC, was created and founded by Tashia Smith. She has her Masters in Clinical Social Work and has worked with children and families, and in mental health, for 13 years. Smith became inspired to open a sensory gym after looking in the Hampton Roads area for a resource for her son to help with motor skills, balance and socialization with a fun twist. The overall goal of the Sensory Gym is to provide an environment where children with ASD can play and explore in an open and non-judgmental zone.
“This event will be a great chance for families in the autism and special needs communities to learn about our services and find much needed support,” said Smith. “Children will have a great time engaging in sensory play while their parents and caregivers get resources and training"
