Crossroads Centre Antigua Announces New Chief of Psychology
ST. JOHN'S, ANTIGUA, WEST INDIES (PRWEB) May 23, 2016 -- Dr. Bruce F. Singer has been named Chief of Psychology for Crossroads Centre Antigua, according to Denise Bertin-Epp, CEO of Crossroads Antigua.
Licensed as a psychologist in Connecticut, New York, and California, Dr. Singer is most widely recognized for bringing mindfulness as well as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) treatments to people with substance use disorders and chronic pain. “We are so pleased that Dr. Singer has joined the Crossroads Antigua clinical team as our Chief Psychologist. His level of expertise with diagnostic testing, strong clinical acumen and commitment to recovery using mindfulness-based practices is an enormous compliment to our evidence based program,” said Denise Bertin-Epp, CEO of Crossroads Antigua.
Dr. Singer was the founding program director for Silver Hill Hospital’s Chronic Pain and Recovery Center, a residential treatment program for people with chronic pain. Under his leadership, the program’s treatment outcomes were recognized by the American Academy of Pain Management. He previously served as Director of Case Management for Pacifica Pain Management Services in Napa Valley, and consulted with pain programs throughout the San Francisco Bay area after a fellowship at Kaiser Permanente’s flagship Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Oakland, CA.

Dr. Singer earned both his master’s and doctor of psychology degrees from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology in Los Angeles, CA, and his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University.
He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board to the U.S. Pain Foundation and the Education Committee of the American Academy of Pain Management.
In addition to his clinical work, he has published articles and book chapters on mindfulness approaches to the treatment of substance abuse and chronic pain.
