Dale Head to Perform with his 17-Piece MindWinder Orchestra at the Sacramento Music Festival
Sacramento, California (PRWEB) May 17, 2016 -- Dale Head (dalehead.net), a jazz and blues powerhouse vocalist and trumpet player, today announced that he will be performing with the MindWinder Orchestra, as well as the SwingOMatics, at the Sacramento Music Festival. “I’m excited to be performing at the Music Festival for the first time,” said Dale Head. “This is my dream band. We’re featuring some major league talent, including the Grammy-winning Steffen Kuehn in the trumpet section, Steve Dunne (from Cold Blood) on guitar, and Larry Antonino of Pablo Cruise on bass.”
Dale and his brainchild, The MindWinder Orchestra, will take listeners on a musical journey through the best music of the 20th Century and the music of today. With innovative arrangements from orchestrator Rick Walsh, Dale brings his high energy and smooth vocals singing jazz, blues and the Great American Songbook, plus classic rock and more! Favorites from The Eagles, Van Morrison, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Van Halen will be performed like they’ve never been heard before. Plus, Dale’s show features hits from the greats like Joe Williams, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Harry James, along with some classic sounding originals and a new take on some old standards. Dale, both a firefighting pilot and a big band singer, and with his new full-length big band album, Swing Straight Up, released last summer, is performing for the first time in the Sacramento Music Festival. This high-powered and dynamic show will be performed Friday, May 27th at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm, as well as Saturday, May 28th at 12:30 pm.
On Saturday, May 28th at 3:30 pm, Dale will be singing, playing the trumpet and leading his talented quintet, The SwingOMatics, on an intimate review of the great jazz voices. From Michael Franks to Chet Baker, and from Al Jarreau to Louis Armstrong, Dale revisits the voices in our collective consciousness that allow us to feel the story of the songs. Dale’s show also features pop voices like Jim Morrison of the Doors and Billy Joel who, like the great writers of the Great American Songbook, brought depth of expression and had elements of swing and jazz in their modern pop hits.
