The success of the Rockwell Model T campaign on Kickstarter shows that people really are fed up with the marketing gimmicks and poor performance of cartridge razors.

Rockwell Razors, a men’s shaving startup focused on innovative shaving technology, has raised more than $390,000 for its newest product, Rockwell Model T, on Kickstarter. The Model T is an adjustable, customizable razor that provides a comfortable, close shave for any man, regardless of facial hair length and skin type.
Since the Kickstarter campaign closed on May 13th as the most-funded men’s grooming product Kickstarter of all time, the Rockwell Model T is the first men’s grooming product to become available through Indiegogo’s new InDemand program. The Rockwell Model T manufacturing will begin after the close of the Kickstarter campaign, and the Model T is currently expected to ship in March 2017.
“The success of the Rockwell Model T campaign on Kickstarter shows that people really are fed up with the marketing gimmicks and poor performance of cartridge razors,” said Gareth Everard, a co-founder at Rockwell Razors. “The Model T will be a game-changer for anyone looking for the next generation of shaving technology and an upgrade from their current old razor.”
The concept of a customizable, adjustable razor has actually been around since the 1950’s, but was left behind by major shaving companies in lieu of inferior, disposable razors once the patents on adjustable razors ran out. In addition to a smoother shave, the single blade of an adjustable, classic razor like a Rockwell Model T has many health benefits, including lower rates of ingrown hairs and less skin irritation and inflammation.
The adjustability and customizability of the Rockwell Model T comes from the dial on the razor. As you turn the dial of the Model T from 1 to 6, the angle at which the blade cuts the hair adjusts to best suit your skin and stubble length at any given time. The Rockwell Model T uses double-edge razor blades, which can be purchased for as little as 10 cents each and stay sharp just as long as cartridges (if not longer).
The Rockwell Model T is available on Kickstarter for $99 until May 13th, then will be available on exclusively on Indiegogo InDemand for $99 until June 13th, 2016.
