Provo, UT (PRWEB) May 18, 2016 -- Sourced Media Books is pleased to announce Jennifer King Durrant as the company’s new publisher. Sourced Media Books, a book publishing and consultancy agency, works directly with authors and companies to produce high-end, custom book publishing solutions. Sourced Media Books has recently produced several bestselling books, such as Ryan Westwood’s "5 Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur," Debbie Ceresa’s "A Beautiful View," and David Bradford’s "Up Your Game." James Adams’s "Waffle Street" has also received national acclaim as a feature film starring Danny Glover and James Lafferty.
Durrant, a graduate of both BYU-Idaho and Weber State University, has spent the majority of her 20-year career in the daily newspaper industry beginning in the trenches as a beat reporter and working her way through the industry as a copy editor, page designer, features editor, magazine editor, marketing and social media editor, marketing director and circulation director.
During those 20 years, Durrant embarked on a foray into the book publishing world, where she was a publicist for Utah-based book publisher Gibbs Smith. While there, she grew to love book publishing and working with authors. For three years, Durrant helped hundreds of authors launch their books by creating press releases, organizing launch parties, representing those authors at trade shows, arranging book tours, and much more.
Durrant was chosen for the position not only because of her experience in all aspects of book publishing, but also because of her ability and commitment to educate authors and businesses on the various publishing options available to them.
“We are thrilled that Jennifer has accepted the position of Publisher at Sourced Media Books,” said Amy Osmond Cook, Ph.D., the company’s founder and former publisher. “Today, there are a variety of options for publishing. Some projects, such as ‘Waffle Street,’ perform better in a traditional publishing environment with a royalty-based model. Others will be more successful if the author or business has 100% ownership rights in the project. We are able to accommodate both models and produce successful projects with a variety of contractual arrangements. More importantly, Jennifer is knowledgeable about all aspects of book publishing and has the ability and desire to educate authors about all of their options.”
“I’m overjoyed to return to book publishing,” Durrant said. “As the industry changes and more and more authors research a variety of publishing opportunities, I hope they consider Sourced Media Books as an option.”
