Eight out of ten Americans will experience back pain sometime in their life, and it is important to realize most back injuries occur over time, not in one swift motion. Injuries can be prevented with training on proper body mechanics and safety practices, which is why MasteryTCN™ recently published three new e-learning courses covering the prevention of injuries to the back, knees and shoulders.
“Protecting Your Back” showcases proper lifting techniques, stretches and exercises to prevent back injuries. Back injuries often develop over time, as people continually use poor lifting techniques or improper body mechanics. This course explains how the back works and models how to work safely and avoid injury.
“Protecting Your Knees” teaches employees about the function of the knee, its ligaments and how each element helps your knee move. Employees learn what causes knee injuries on the job, as well as the steps to take to stretch and strengthen the muscles supporting the knee.
“Protecting Your Shoulders” explores the basic anatomy of the shoulder, risk factors that affect them, as well as how to protect and strengthen them. Because it is so frequently used, the shoulder is the most vulnerable joint in the body to injury. This course illustrates the risk factors related to shoulder injuries and the steps to take to protect oneself from an acute or chronic injury.
All three of these courses have been published on MasteryTCN’s courseware platform, which means users benefit from the ability to train on every device, including smartphones, tablets, desktops, and laptops. All three of these courses feature HD video and allow users to choose between taking the course in English or Spanish. Courses on the MasteryTCN platform include interactive learning assessments, and many feature closed captioning. All MasteryTCN courses are compatible with any SCORM Learning Management System.
