New Platform for Youth Sports Highlights with a Non-Profit Twist

GroundSwell Group announced the launch of the Youth Baller Network, a show highlighting all that is great about youth sports. The weekly show will air on digital platforms, including the YBN YouTube channel and on the website http://www.YouthBallerNetwork.com. In addition, the shows will be distributed and marketed through youth sports leagues across the country.

Youth Baller Network will feature user-generated content of youth sports highlights in the form of a “Top Plays of the Week”, news from the week in youth sports, a viral video of the week, and feature segments providing interviews with both youth and pro athletes, coaches, and celebrities connected to sports. In addition to the national recognition the youth athletes will receive from being featured on the show, the Youth Baller Network will also make contributions to the baseball, basketball, football, soccer and other non-profit leagues across the country that have been featured on the show.

Co-Executive Producer Noel Wax, a former leader in the world of professional sports media at CBS and CBS Sports, has been overseeing the development of the new channel, from show creation to production to brand identity.

Wax shared, "I kept seeing great video on major sites of kids doing amazing things, but nothing exclusively for the kids. With new powerful distribution channels in everyone's hand, these shows can be viewed by everyone at any time. And, we get to make a difference in communities by making contributions to the leagues and teams we feature in our show each week."

Wax will be accompanied by Lisa Woods, Co-Executive Producer; Eric Mittleman, Producer; Scott Seidenberg, Studio host; Hillary Fishman, Creative Director; and Safia Mirabella, Site Director.

Popular sports host and studio host for YBN, Scott Seidenberg, commented, “Some of my greatest memories are playing sports as a kid, way before High School and even before competitive travel ball. Those moments where I just loved being on the field or court with my friends, pretending I was one of the professionals who’s cards I collected, that’s what it was all about. To be a part of a unique program that highlights those moments is very special to me. Seeing the submissions and hearing some of the stories from across the country brings a huge smile to my face and I look forward to sharing that emotion with the audience. Plus for these kids, seeing themselves on video like their favorite players, must be a surreal feeling. I wish I had something like the YBN when I was younger. For now, I can live vicariously through them!”

The Youth Baller Network team is excited to give young athletes the opportunity to shine and showcase their abilities, talents, and stories in their athletic arenas. Those featured on the show, in addition to a donation to their league, will also be sent a special “I’m a Baller” swag item to wear in honor of their accomplishment.

Producer Eric Mittleman noted, “The initial response to the concept has been overwhelmingly high, with submissions coming in daily. The format is really fun too and I think it will leave any viewer satisfied.”

The first show of the series is scheduled to air Sunday, May 22nd at 3PM PST/6PM EST.
