Greenberg Traurig Co-President Hilarie Bass Honored as Outstanding Woman Lawyer by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division
MIAMI, Fla. (PRWEB) May 19, 2016 -- Hilarie Bass, Co-President and Shareholder at international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been named as the first recipient of the Outstanding Woman Lawyer of Achievement Award presented by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. Bass will be honored at the May 19 Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) third annual Leadership Summit.
The Outstanding Woman Lawyer of Achievement Award, in its inaugural year, will be bestowed upon Bass to acknowledge her professional excellence, commitment to community and the profession, as well as her dedication to the advancement and mentorship of women lawyers. Bass is a recognized leader in women’s advancement and as founder of Greenberg Traurig’s Women’s Initiative she regularly inspires fellow women lawyers and challenges traditional gender stereotypes in the legal profession.
Based in the firm’s Miami office, Bass is the President-Elect Nominee of the American Bar Association. She will take office at the annual meeting in August, serving a one-year term as President-Elect before becoming ABA President in August 2017.

During her more than 30-year career, she has successfully represented clients in commercial cases in jury and non-jury trials involving hundreds of millions of dollars in controversy. She is currently Lead Counsel for the Homebuilder Group in the Chinese Drywall MDL, having served as Lead Liaison counsel in prior MDL’s. Bass is widely recognized for her pro bono work on behalf of two foster children which led to the elimination and holding of the unconstitutionality of the 20-year-old ban on gay adoption in the State of Florida.
