SCORE Portland Maine Receives 2015 PlatinumLeadership Award
(PRWEB) May 22, 2016 -- SCORE Portland Chair Nancy Strojny said the Chapter provided more than 2730 services to Greater Portland small business owners and entrepreneurs last year. In addition to offering free business workshops on a wide range of topics, SCORE Portland's Certified mentors provide free face-to-face mentoring sessions, as well as virtual sessions with clients.
“The Platinum Leadership Award is a testament not only to the quantity of work SCORE Portland has done, but more importantly to the quality of our work as reported by our clients,” Strojny said.
“Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) conducts an annual survey of SCORE client engagement. SCORE Portland ranked #5 in the U.S. in client engagement satisfaction.”
SCORE is the largest mentor network in Maine. Portland Certified Mentors are a team of 62 active volunteers who are current and former entrepreneurs, business owners, corporate executives and professionals.
“We work hard to provide business owners and startups with support that allows their business ventures to thrive,” said Strojny.
To be considered for the Platinum Leadership Award all SCORE chapters are reviewed each year by the SCORE National Association. The review consists of assessment and ratings of 20 key performance indicators.
Score’s mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education.
SCORE has 120 volunteers in the State of Maine who donated more than 16,200 hours of time to help start or grow a small business. In 2015, there were 335 new business starts and 454 jobs created with SCORE assistance.
