Children’s Hospital of Illinois Names New President
Peoria, Illinois (PRWEB) May 20, 2016 -- Kelly Nierstedt RN, BSN, MSN has been named President of Children’s Hospital of Illinois, part of OSF Healthcare System.
As President, Nierstedt will oversee operations of Children’s Hospital, in addition to helping develop and implement long-term strategies of OSF HealthCare’s Children’s Service Line with the goal to provide high quality, cost-effective health care to children and families throughout the 34 counties served by Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
She has more than 20 years of experience in clinical care in addition to extensive management and leadership accomplishments in women’s and children’s services. Currently, she serves as Vice President for Women’s and Children’s Services at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in Neptune City, New Jersey.
Nierstedt’s previous positions include labor and delivery nurse; Administrative Director for Maternal Child Health at Virtua Hospital in New Jersey; and Vice President, Women and Children's Services, Virtua Health System, a five-hospital community health system.
Nierstedt starts her new position June 20, 2016.
Children's Hospital of Illinois, located in Peoria, is the third largest pediatric hospital in Illinois and the only full service tertiary hospital for children downstate with 137 beds and more than 115 pediatric subspecialists. Formally established as a pediatric hospital within the walls of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in 1990, Children's Hospital has over 6,000 admissions, 2,500 newborn deliveries, and 18,000 emergency department visits each year.
