Chevron Manufacturing Announces Successful Global Implementation of Mangan Software Solution’s SLM Software
Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 22, 2016 -- Chevron Manufacturing engaged Mangan Software Solutions (MSS) to deploy SLM as its exclusive safety system lifecycle management solution during 2015. Now the oil major’s Manufacturing division uses the software platform to standardize and automate information management practices around IEC 61511/ISA84 across the enterprise’s seven refineries, located throughout North America and South Africa.
Chevron Manufacturing chose MSS for the company’s innovative approach to combining, within a cloud-based SLM software platform, client-specific requirements for workflows and operational reports with industry standard forms and checklists. In addition to delivering a world-class set of software features, MSS deployed the software in record time to meet Chevron’s schedule.
“We chose MSS because SLM could deliver the functionality we needed to meet our organization’s strategic information management goals,” said Dave Rieder, Chevron Manufacturing’s SIS Business Improvement Network leader. “The software standardizes and streamlines our methods for developing safety requirements specifications (SRS), completing all necessary approval and verifications protocols, and testing of all SIS devices.”
Dave Rieder led a vendor evaluation team that defined and tested the initial requirements built into the SLM software platform last year. Since deployment they have praised MSS’s customer support model and the software’s ability to add enhancements as further requirements are discovered. Now 85 SIS engineers, O/M coordinators, field technicians, and third-party contractors throughout the organization use SLM to manage and report on every aspect of the SIS lifecycle.
“We honored our commitment to Chevron’s timeline and budget,” said Zach Marshall, MSS Operations Manager. “Our deployment teams delivered a client-configured software platform on time and under budget to seven different refineries within 9 weeks, start to finish.”
