Her poems were written regarding all walks of life including a variety of occasions and topics that are important to Gladys. When people around her are affected by divorce, broken relationships and life’s tragedies, she shares her creative writing to encourage all with faith and hope in Christ. She prays that her poems impart joy and good news related to any occasion a reader is facing.

“I started writing poems as a hobby,” states the author. “I would read them to friends. I would always put myself in the person's place that I was writing about although some people thought I was writing about my own experience.”

Gladys Kneeland was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. She is the mother of four children and a proud grandmother. She started writing poems at a very young age as a hobby. Later on, she received numerous requests to write poems for churches, weddings, birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. With strong encouragement from friends, she began composing Poems by Design. Gladys is a prior member of Christian Faith Fellowship Church in Zion, IL. She currently attends Covenant United Church of Christ in South Holland, IL. It has always (and still is) her prayer that God would get the Glory from each poem.
