Youth Gymnastics will be the topic of an upcoming episode of Behind the Scenes with James Earl Jones. The program produced for Public Television examines many kinds of issues that are of interest to the American public. Jones is a well known actor who has a strong authoritative voice that makes him an interesting host for this type of show. He will be talking with various experts about youth gymnastics, from its popularity to its value to children.

Some youth do go on to become Olympic competitors and medalists, but most don't. Still, gymnastics are a great way to children to stay fit and to learn a sport they can participate in the rest of their lives. Physical benefits include regular training, discipline, balance, as well as better posture and overall physical fitness. Gymnastics are taught as young as pre-school age, and basic skills here can help a young child develop.

Health experts, as well as authorities in the sport, will discuss how gymnastics can benefit children. They will also discuss how it has developed in the United States, and how it can grow more.
