Columbia’s master-planned community will launch the Home Run 5K as part of the Building Industry Association’s annual event spotlighting available new homes in the local market.

The 1850-acre property boasts beautiful views and exceptional amenities.

Families are invited to enjoy food, fun and a 5K race at the award-winning Lake Carolina Development. On Saturday, June 4, the 2016 Tour of Homes, hosted by the BIA of Central South Carolina, will kick off. This showcase, spanning over the course of three weekends, is the “largest open house of new homes for sale” in the Columbia area. The event will begin on Lake Carolina’s spacious and beautiful grounds, where guests can take part in the community’s inaugural Home Run 5K across their scenic, winding trails. A bulk of the proceeds will go towards Columbia Flood Relief efforts.

“Not only are race participants able to explore the paths that weave through our beautiful development,” says Community Event Director Julia Burley. “But there will be lots of food and fun afterwards. We encourage guests to gather in our Town Center for snow cones, food trucks and a balloon artist. It’ll be an awesome time to socialize and enjoy the beautiful weather.” The Home Run 5K and Town Center celebration are open to the general public, Lake Carolina residents and members of other Tour of Homes communities.

Register now and secure a spot for the Home Run 5K today! Same-day registration and packet pick-up will be available onsite at 8am and the race will begin promptly at 9am. Awards will be given to race winners during the Town Center celebration. To learn more about the 2016 Tour of Homes, inclusive of Columbia’s “finest builders and developers,” click here.
