Art on the Vine Set to Transform Martha’s Vineyard with One-Day Exhibition Featuring Over Twenty Contemporary Artists of Color
Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 24, 2016 -- Art on the Vine presented by The Agora Culture is set to transform Martha’s Vineyard with a one-day art exhibition featuring 25 contemporary artists of color, 100 available works, and educational seminars for new and seasoned collectors. The event will take place at the historic Dr. Daniel Fisher House in Edgartown on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will directly support Art on the Vine’s residency program for promising artists.
“Art on the Vine provides a major platform for contemporary artists of color to showcase their work. This event is one-of-a-kind because of our ability to bring investment grade pieces to the Vineyard for art enthusiasts at all levels,” said Jessica Stafford Davis, founder of Art on the Vine and The Agora Culture. “Not only are we highlighting museum-quality works, we are also providing on-site educational opportunities for new and seasoned collectors, as well as choosing one talented artist for the first year of our newly established residency program.”
The art residency is a four-to six-week program in Martha’s Vineyard for promising artists. The chosen artist will have an opportunity to return to the Vineyard, engage with the local art community, showcase their work, and be featured at Art on the Vine in 2017.
Connecting the dots between contemporary artists and art enthusiasts, Art on the Vine is the first multicultural event that brings together collectors, up-and-coming artists, institutions, and the merely curious for a unique cultural exhibition. Some of the gifted artists that will be exhibiting and attending this year’s event include Sheldon Scott, Alexandria Smith, and David Rashid Ibata. Additional artists will be revealed over the next few months.
