Optimum Group renewable energy expert Robert Parkins will present a U.S. Department of Energy webinar Wednesday on innovative methods tribal entities can use to finance their renewable energy projects.

The webinar, “Tribal Business Structures for Financing Projects,” will present information on six different structures available to tribes to diversify their economic portfolios by creating business structures for their energy business.

The webinar will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time on Wednesday, May 25.

“There are six different structures available to tribes to help them finance their renewable energy projects,” Parkins said. “No single structure will work for everyone. This webinar explains the pros and cons of each option so tribes are better informed to select the methods that will work best for them.”

Webinar participants will learn about these business structures, their advantages and disadvantages, and gain insight into selecting the best structure to fit their tribe’s goals given existing codes and laws.

In part, the webinar will address Optimum Group’s successful team effort with the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians in developing a successful RFP.
