Eltima Announces the Release of Serial to Ethernet Connector 7.0 With New Interface and Improved Functionality
(PRWEB) May 27, 2016 -- Eltima Software has recently released new version of their popular Serial to Ethernet Connector app - version 7.0. This solution lets you share and access COM ports over the network no matter the distance to them.
New version 7.0 got multiple updates. Among them:
- Redesigned interface.
- The ability to export/import the connections configuration (from the GUI as well as the command line).
- The ability to set the size of the buffer or disable buffering altogether.
- Lots of improvements to functionality and increased stability.
Working with serial devices in a virtual environment is also offered by Serial to Ethernet Connector. By creating virtual connections, the app lets its users work with devices remotely even without a real serial port available on the machine. Working with remote RS232 devices over the network is made easy with Serial to Ethernet Connector.
Serial to Ethernet Connector highlights:
Share serial ports for incoming connections. Server connection allows connecting many clients simultaneously and each connected client is able to transmit input/output serial data to their local real or virtual COM port.
Connect COM port to remote host. All you have to do is specify remote server's IP address (or network name) and TCP port to connect to.
Share serial port using UDP.
Serial to Ethernet Connector is available for Windows OS and Linux OS. Linux version is a command-line product at this time. All versions are available for download at developer's website: http://www.eltima.com/products/serial-over-ethernet/
