Hundreds of various industry influencers celebrated, networked and heard the inspirational stories of a dozen trendsetter award recipients in New York's Symphony Space Theater

The 14th Annual Latino Trendsetter Awards, presented by LatinTRENDS Magazine, was held in New York City on Tuesday, May 10th, 2016. The yearly event surrounding achievement in enterprise, arts, entertainment, health, education, sports and community leadership.

Actress, speaker and author April Hernandez Castillo and luxury real estate broker and star of Bravo's Emmy-Nominated show Million Dollar Listing New York, Luis D. Ortiz co-hosted the presentation, igniting energy and comedic charm to the business award ceremony.

Mixing business with pleasure, the Latino Trendsetter Awards kept its tradition of providing stellar entertainment, weaving in performances by Latin GRAMMY® Award nominated salsa star, Frankie Negron, emerging Urban Tropical musician, Doñé , and violinist Lorenzo Laroc.

The awards concluded with a special Flamenco performance by Espiritu Gitano, featuring Barbara Martinez and Sol la Argentina. The event was sponsored in part by: New York Presbyterian Hospital, Inca Kola and CUNY and it’s media partner were; La Mega 97.9 and Amor 93.1

The Latino Trendsetter Awards and Scholarship Event ensures that the awards will create a long term legacy of celebrating and supporting today's most influential trailblazers within the Hispanic community.

This year's awards recognized twelve trailblazing men and women from medicine to music, two students to help support their educational preparation and needs and a business of the year award to Hispanic owned global franchise Pollo Campero. Some of the awardees included industry-leading executives, philanthropist, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and artists. Legendary soccer star, David Villa, music impresario and manager to Romeo Santos, Johnny Marines, Dr. Rafael Ortiz, a young Latino brain surgeon Salsa icon, La India, actor and director, Victor Cruz and HBO executive Lucinda Martinez, among others took home 2016 Latino Trendsetter Awards.
