In light of these staggering numbers, it is important for Americans to understand not only the warning signs of a stroke, but the recovery process and, perhaps most importantly, how to prevent strokes.

Gracing the cover of the print publication is R&B singer Michelle Williams, of Destiny’s Child fame. Through and exclusive interview on the interior, she sheds light on the importance of stroke education and the impact that knowledge can have on the life of every student. “I hope the future of stroke awareness continues to reveal the dangers, how important it is to recognize symptoms of stroke, and how to react quickly,” Williams says. “People think all strokes do one thing. There are many types and levels of stroke.”
